From the counter to the record

Where it lives now

  • A paper invoice on the counter
  • A warranty card in the manual, in a drawer
  • The company’s number somewhere in your call history
  • “Service it again in a year,” said out loud, once

Where it could live

  • The invoice photographed and attached to the thing that was repaired
  • Model, serial, install date, and warranty end on one record
  • The provider saved, with what they did and what it cost
  • The next service date already set, so it finds you

How it works

  1. Add what was repaired

Water heater, furnace, dishwasher, the car. Model and serial if the label is handy.

  2. Log the visit

Date, what was done, what it cost, who did it. Photograph the invoice while it’s still in your hand.

  3. Set the next one

One reminder, on whatever interval the work calls for. Then you can put the paperwork away.

What one appliance looks like after seven years

Two visits, one install, and the answer to every question the next plumber will ask.

What it’s worth later

The next service finds you

A reminder set once beats remembering an interval you were told about in passing.

History accrues

When it fails again, you know what was replaced, when, by whom, and whether the warranty has run out.

Providers are remembered

Every visit and invoice attached to the thing they worked on — including what you’ve spent with them.

Common questions

I rent. Is this useful?

Yes, for whatever is yours to look after. Log the repairs you handle and check your lease for the rest. The record leaves with you when you move.

Do I need the paperwork to start?

No. The date, the company, and a photo of the invoice are enough. Model and serial can wait until you’re next standing in front of it.

What about the repairs I have already had done?

Add them as you come across them. There’s also an import that hands your own AI assistant a prompt, interviews you, and lets you review every record before it’s saved.
