From scattered to on the record
Where it lives now
- Photos of the drywall crack, somewhere in a camera roll
- A text thread with your builder rep
- Two warranty emails and a manual in Downloads
- A punch list started in Notes and abandoned in April
Where it could live
- Each issue dated, described, and photographed
- The response you got, saved with the issue it answers
- Manuals, warranty documents, and work orders on the home they belong to
- One export you can hand to anyone: a printable record or the files themselves
How it works
Add your home
Address, builder, and closing date. That’s the whole setup.
Log each issue when you notice it
What it is, where it is, a photo, and what you reported. Two minutes, standing in front of it.
Export before your dates arrive
Take the record into the walkthrough — printable, or as files. Your signed documents set the dates; SteadLog keeps what happened.
What the record looks like eight months in

Reminders arrive on their own
Your own warranty dates, the filter, the water heater flush. Set once, then they come to you.
History accrues
When the same crack reappears in two years, you’ve got the first photo, the date, and who looked at it.
Providers are remembered
The trade partner who actually fixed it, with every visit and invoice attached to the thing they worked on.

Common questions
Does SteadLog file warranty claims for me?
No. You report issues to your builder the way your warranty documents describe. SteadLog keeps your side of it: dates, photos, and what was said.
What if I’m not sure something is covered?
SteadLog does not interpret coverage — your signed documents and your builder do. Log it anyway. A dated photo is worth having either way.
What happens after the warranty period?
The record keeps going. Same home, same history, now with reminders for the maintenance that follows the first year.
Is SteadLog only for new builds?
No, only this page is. SteadLog is a maintenance record for any home, rented or owned. A new build just has dates attached to its first year.
Start while the details are fresh
A year of dated photos beats reconstructing a year from memory the week before your walkthrough.
